Leah and David John: Wupatki National Monument Wedding Photographer
Wupatki National Monument Wedding Photographer: Leah and David John. Leah and David John have been married for more than two years. Having this beautiful couple participate in our styled shoot was a joy. Capturing a real connection between two people is what my job revolves around. These two made it easy! When I began planning this shoot, I had no idea how perfectly all the pieces would fall into place. What started out as a personal project, blossomed into an education opportunity for my students at Northern Arizona University.
As part of my Event Photography course – with the help of some AMAZING vendors – we were able to host a styled shoot for my upper-level students. This hands-on workshop allowed the students to produce portfolio-worthy work and experiment with different styles of wedding photography. A BIG thank you to all the amazing vendors involved!
Wupatki National Monument Wedding Photographer: The Location…
In total there are more than 800 identified ruins spread around many miles of desert within Wupatki National Monument. Five of the largest are close to the main road, and these are the only sites open to visitors. All the dwellings were built by the Anasazi and Sinagua Indians during the 12th and 13th centuries. The habitation of this region was influenced by the eruption of nearby Sunset Volcano during the winter of 1064-5. The three of us were lucky enough to shoot at this AMAZING location. We had a great time enjoying the scenic drive on the way out. I was so excited when we arrived, as we basically had the whole place to ourselves. The three of us enjoyed sunset surrounded by the red rocks of these ancient ruins. I just love when my couples are up for a big adventure – it makes for amazing photographs and memories!
Special Thank to Amazing Vendors
