Why You Should Visit Flagstaff Arizona
Saaty Photography: Why You Should Visit Flagstaff Arizona. Usually when people think of Arizona, they imagine the entire state covered in desert. However, nestled in Northern Arizona at 7000 feet in elevation is Flagstaff. Opposite of its neighboring cactus filled valley, Flagstaff is home to the beautiful San Francisco Peaks, forests, parks, downtown and more!
Whether you are a Arizona resident or live beyond, Flagstaff is the perfect destination for a getaway.

#1 Four Seasons
One of the many perks (and one of my favorites) of Flagstaff is that it experiences four seasons! So, no matter what time you choose to visit there will always be beauty awaiting you! In the spring and summer, you can enjoy the nice warm weather and the lush greenery. When you visit in the autumn months you can witness the remarkable colors of the fall foliage. Come winter time, you can experience a winter wonderland! (Just be sure to check the weather first). The snow on top of the San Francisco Peaks and dusted on the pine trees is a beautiful sight.

#2 Outdoor Activities
Another advantage of having 4 seasons is having plenty of opportunities to take part in different outdoor activities. For example, in the spring, summer, and fall months you can explore what flagstaff has to offer by going on bike rides and hiking. There are many trail systems throughout flagstaff that are great for these adventures! You can also go camping, bouldering, or have a picnic in one of the many beautiful parks! During the snowy season, get out those winter coats, sleds, skis and snowboards! A popular winter spot in Flagstaff is Arizona Snowbowl ski resort.

# 3 The Night Sky
For all of you night owls and astronomy lovers, you would be happy to know that Flagstaff has been designated as “the first international dark sky city.” Whether you are camping or take part in some stargazing- when you look up at the sky on clear nights you can see millions of stars twinkling. While you are here, be sure to venture over to Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered, to take a deeper dive into all things space!

#4 Downtown Flagstaff
Just off of Historic Route 66 is Downtown Flagstaff. Here, you can take a stroll through the area, visit the local shops, grab a bite to eat, and see the colorful and grand murals painted by incredible artists. The Flagstaff community often puts on many family- friendly events such as first Friday, the flagstaff farmers market, live concerts, and movie nights! So be sure to check out what events are happening when you visit!
