Kayla and Scott: Watson Lake and Prescott Arizona Engagement Photographer
Watson Lake and Prescott Arizona Engagement Photographer: Kayla and Scott. I had a blast during this recent session with Kayla and Scott. It was my first session at Watson Lake. I am shooting their wedding day in a few months, so this engagement session was a great way for us to meet prior. They wanted an adventure session, and I was all in! After discussing some new locations to photograph, they settled on this iconic Arizona spot. We had a ton of fun exploring the area and getting to know one another during the sunset session. I am SO excited to work with this fun and loving couple again in a few months!
Watson Lake and Prescott Arizona Engagement Photographer: The Location
There are many small reservoirs in the hills of central Arizona, but Watson Lake is perhaps the most unusual and photogenic, as most of the shoreline and the surroundings are formed of huge, rounded granite boulders, some of which are semi-submerged forming tiny islands or narrow promontories. Contrasting with the blue-grey waters and the brownish rocks are the emerald green leaves of aspen trees, found scattered amongst the boulders. This bright blue lake is surrounded by granite boulders and hiking trails. Though swimming is prohibited, there are many other fun activities to do at Watson Lake. Some others include fishing, boating, kayaking, rock climbing, and hiking.
