Saaty Photography: Tips for Including Your Dog on Your Wedding Day: The love dogs give us is unconditional. They are a part of the family and therefore an important guest at your wedding! As a dog owner myself, I know the workload they can be and understand if you are nervous about looking after your pet while your mind is already in so many different places at once. To help make your big day as stress-free as possible I have gathered some tips to ease your mind.
Tip #1
The first tip is to arrive early to the location. At this time around your wedding is still being set up and the quests have not arrived yet. You can spend a little time with your dog, let him run around, be excited and get his zoomies out. For the ceremony he will have calmed down and will be happy to sit quietly.
Tip #2
Another, maybe obvious, trick is to bring your pets favorite toys and treats. The toys will help to keep your dog occupied and he will be able to play on his own. His treats will make him happy and more inclined to listen in a stressful situation.
Tip #3
Not only the human guests should look dapper! Why not bring a wedding bandana or flower crown for your furbaby? Such a piece of accessoire won’t bother your pet and make such a cute difference in their appearance. This way your dog will look just as celebratory as the rest and the pictures will turn out adorable.
Tip #4
Another important advice would be to bring an extra set of hands to help hold and look after your dog. As the wedding couple, you will have a lot on your mind. You are nervous and are doing your best to relax and enjoy the day. In order for you to be fully in the moment, having someone that helps you to look after your dog is vital. This way you know your furbaby is in good hands and will be there when needed.
Tip #5
The last tip I have is to allow your dog to be off leash. If you know your pet behaves and just likes to be friendly and have his free space, letting your dog roam around freely will satisfy his urges. When he is curious, he can go and explore and when the time comes for your dog to have to sit patiently, he might be more happy to do so.
Having your dog attend your wedding is so special. You will not regret seeing him later in your pictures! Even if he goes a little crazy, his action might bring a smile to your wedding guests and later become a funny story to be told.
