Perkins Family: Sedona Family Portrait Photography
Sedona Family Portrait Photography: Perkins Family. I cherish the time I spend with my loved ones and know how powerful these photographs can be – transporting your years into the past and reconnecting you with memories. I absolutely love family portrait season. Autumn is already so magical – it makes for amazing backdrops when everyone comes together. It’s a joy being able to meet and photograph families from all over the country!
About the Location: Cathedral Rock
Majestically overlooking the land and Oak Creek, Cathedral Rock is revered by Native Americans as a home of gods and birthplace of the first man and woman. It is also the most photographed Red Rock Formation, often found on postcards and calendars.
The vortex energy of this area is said, by many, to be feminine providing feelings of softness, receptiveness and compassion. The vortex is reported at its strongest right on the creek at its closest point to the rock formation. Regardless of how one feels about vortexes, there are many delightful spots in this area to relax in the sun, experience Oak Creek, enjoy the scenery and perhaps even unknowingly take in the vortex energy.
Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona is arguably the best-known Sedona red rock landmark. Not only is it a popular place for photography in Sedona, it’s also one of the most photographed sites in all of Arizona. Oak Creek runs alongside where it reflects a mirror image of the rock, depending on where you’re standing. Colors of the sky, creek, and surrounding lush green vegetation contrast with the reddish hues of this magnificent formation, especially at sunset. Many Sedona wedding photos show couples posed together in front of Cathedral Rock.
