With red rock, green desert brush, and blue skies (most of the time!) the colors alone make for jaw dropping images. There are seemingly endless trails and vistas to choose from. Here are 5 more of the best photography locations in Sedona for sessions and why I love them.

1. Tlaquepaque

Tlaquepaque (pronounced te-lak-uh-pa-kee if you’re curious!) Art’s and Crafts Village is a lovely, quaint shopping center tucked away in Sedona. Along the cobblestone paths and archways are Tlaquepaque unique art galleries, locally owned shops, and delicious restaurants and eateries. Built in traditional Mexican style and covered in lush vines, it makes for an absolutely stunning setting for timeless and elegant photographs.

2. Schnebly Hill Road

Schnebly Hill Road is a classic scenic route for Sedona’s famous pink jeep off-road tours. There is absolutely no question as to why it is so popular with the world-class views of Sedona red-rocks. This location is not limited to just off-road vehicles, though. To say the very least, the landscape is epic and the cherry on top is how close downtown Sedona is! To find these breathtaking, magnificent views so close to town is something that makes this location one of the best for photography in Sedona.

3. Dry Creek Road

Sedona’s Dry Creek Road is similar to Schnebly Hill Road in that it is frequented by off-road vehicles, but it is a less technical off-roading experience. There are sweeping views of Sedona’s famous red rocks and no shortage of perfect places to take photos. It is a great way to get closer to some of Sedona’s wilderness without needing to hike– if you have 4 Wheel Drive, that is! Winding along rust red sandstone walls and hidden canyons, dry creek road is a 5-mile rocky road full of photo opportunities you won’t want to miss.

4. Secret Slickrock Trail

Secret Slickrock Trail is a short, moderate trail that takes you up to a magnificent overlook. The view is well worth the 0.4 miles it takes to get there. The easily accessible vista looks out over cathedral rock front and center with other notable Sedona rock formations further in the distance. For such a short hike, the payoff is beautiful. This makes it a stunning, easy location to take photographs. Want engagement photos that feature breathtaking views without worry too much about footwear or your outfits getting dirty? This is definitely the location for you! All the classic Sedona scenery without the technical climbing or stress is the REAL secret of secret Slickrock trail!

5. Sliderock State Park

If you drive down State Route 89A from Flagstaff to Sedona, you will find yourself navigating the switchbacks and descending into Oak Creek, surrounded by lush greenery and massive canyon walls. There aren’t too many spots to pull over and take in the jaw-dropping views, but Slide Rock State Park is a perfect one. The trees clear around the creek, providing unobstructed views of the massive sandstone walls. As the name suggests, the slick rock has created natural waterslides from Oak Creek rushing over it for years and years. There is really nothing quite like it. It is a truly fun place to visit, even if you don’t want to slide. During the spring and summer months Slide Rock is truly a unique sight to see. And it is a common destination for families and you may end up fighting some crowds, so get there early!

Words can not express how thankful and happy we are that we chose Monica to capture our perfect day. She made us feel both comfortable and confident in the whole process. She has this ease that makes you feel you’ve known her for years. Her kindness, personality, and professionalism was beyond what we could have hoped for. Her communication and organization was so impressive as well (I am far from organized)! Our photos are AMAZING, they are perfect. We wish we could do it all over again, and again. Seriously, book her right now! Best choice we could have made, and she helped make our day so wonderfully memorable and way less stressful.
