Importance of Wedding Details + Getting Ready in Your Timeline
Importance of Wedding Details + Getting Ready in Your Timeline: Saaty Photography. Our wedding clients commonly ask about when I should begin shooting on the wedding day. Though this is a decision that each couple will need to make for themselves, I always hope that photography can begin early enough to allow me to capture getting ready and intimate detail photos. Why? Simple because I LOVE it! Here are the top three reasons for including time for getting ready and detail photos:
Highlight Your Unique Details
In the whirlwind of your wedding day you will be surrounded by loved ones and brimming with emotion. Weddings are full of grand highlights that will be remembered forever. With all the love and planning that goes in to each big day, you will want to remember the unique details that made your wedding story! It is vital to have photos to help document and remember the little things, too! Many of these wedding details like your dress or shoes are items you may not wear again. In 25 years, you’ll love being able to admire the personal details that you carefully selected for your special day.
Preserving the Little Moments
Getting ready for your wedding is a time filled with both anticipation and joy. Being able to reflect on those feelings through photos later is important. Spending time with your closest friends and family members before the ceremony is an emotional time that is truly worth capturing. This part of the day is full of meaningful moments with those who will always be by your side. Getting ready photos are the perfect candid additions to your wedding gallery because they focus on sweet moments with those closest to you which will supplement the formal group shots that will take place later.
Get Comfortable With Being Photographed
As your photographer, I am there to record all of the grand and small moments of your wedding day. This can be a bit intimidating to begin with if you are someone who feels shy when a camera is near (totally normal!). Because of this, it can be helpful to have some candid time to get used to being followed around by your own personal paparazzi! In no time, you’ll be able to relax and it will feel completely natural. Soon enough, the last thing you’ll be thinking about is the camera and you’ll be that much more present for your wedding.
Things to Include in Your Photography Details:
- TWO clean copies of your wedding invitation suite.
- Your rings
- Your vows
- The bride’s perfume & groom’s cologne
- Old, new, borrowed, blue
- Details of the bride’s apparel, including the veil, shoes, jewelry, garter and clutch
- Details of the groom’s apparel, including shoes, tie, watch, cufflinks, and pocket square
- Bouquets & boutonnieres
- Gifts or favors for the wedding guests
- Floral
As you’re planning your timeline, hopefully you’ll consider getting them there early to capture the special intimate details and more of the memories you’ll want to look back on forever!
