Saaty Photography: How to Style Wedding Invitations
How to Style Wedding Invitations: Styling wedding stationery can be so much fun to photograph before the big day comes for your clients. It’s a great way to get a feel for the weddings style and theme, so when the wedding day arrives you are able to capture their style perfectly. Here are some of my tips to help you create some beautiful flat lays of your clients wedding stationary.
Select A Backdrop
When it comes to creating flat lays, you want to make sure you have a background with few distractions. It is best to find a background that is simple rather than a background with distracting patterns. Some great options for backdrops are soft fabrics, fine art boards, even wrapping paper! Any backdrop can be found with any budget you may have.
Flowers are a great item to use when styling wedding invitations. To save some time from picking flowers yourself, collect florals from a florist directly. Try to use the same flowers your client picked for their wedding.
Placing The Invitations
When placing the invitations on your backdrop, it takes some time to figure out how you want the placement to look like. To help figure out the placing, add other items to fill the space. Keep taking a step back to look at your flat lay overall and adjust anything that needs to be. One tip to making sure your flat lay is flawless is measuring everything and making sure the spacing is consistent between each item!
How to Style Wedding Invitations: Final Touches
Complete the flat lay by adding the flowers, ring box, mini candles or plants, and so much more. Additional items help bring the whole flat lay together as well as adding a few extra touches!
Photographing the Flat Lay and Details
While photographing your styled wedding invitations, take various shots such as a full frame both horizontal and vertical, close-ups of the stationery and details, and any others you may favor! Styling wedding invitations can be so much fun and allows for creative ideas to be presented. It takes a lot of planning and understanding of your clients to help make such beautiful flat lays.
