Flagstaff Arizona Mini Session Photographers: The Gomes Family Winter Session. Family photos are so important! Kids grow faster than you can imagine– it seems like you blink and they’re taller than you! Capturing photos and remembering different stages of their lives is something that will only become more and more meaningful as time passes. The thing is, sometimes getting little kids to smile for the camera and hold still can be challenging. I’ve learned some tricks as a photographer that can help engage kids so they have a great time getting their photo taken and the images turn out beautiful and joyful every time!
Play Games
Ring around the rosie, patty cake, peek-a-boo, and other games like that are great for engaging kids and making them laugh and smile. The photos turn out super cute and can make for really fun memories. Games occupy your kids and makes it feel like you’re just playing rather than standing in front of a camera!
Tickle Fight
Tickling little kids is a sure fire way to get some genuine giggles! Having a tickle fight during your family photo session not only looks adorable in pictures, but it can create some laughter and smiles that last into the next photos!
Swing, Jump, Run!
Playing around by swinging your child between you and your spouse or jumping in the air on the count of three can be really fun for kids, while making for some adorable family photos. Some other ideas are to run around with each other, or to put your child on your back or shoulders. By interacting with your kids like this, it encourages them to relax and have fun. By doing things to help your kids enjoy themselves, the photos will be full of laughter and joy!
