Logan and James: Elopement Photographers Flagstaff Arizona
Elopement Photographers Flagstaff Arizona: Logan and James. It was truly an honor to photograph this couple’s intimate ceremony recently in Flagstaff, Arizona. I have known Logan and James on a personal level for many years. I met Logan more than a decade ago in one of my earliest photography courses in college. We were instantly friends. Over the years, it’s been a joy to see these two grow into the amazing team that they are today. They support one another’s dreams and make each other laugh. Though they had to postpone their big celebration due to COVID, they decided to keep their original wedding date. Logan and James chose a private spot at the base of the mountain to exchange vows. They are an incredible pair and I am so happy to see them start their lives together!
Logan and James chose June 26th for their big day. On June 26th, 2015, the Supreme Court ruled that gay Americans had the right to marry in every state in the country. On the exact same date in 2013, the same court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, allowing same-sex couples to access federal benefits. And when the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex sexual activity should be legal in every state in the Lawrence vs Texas ruling in 2003, it did so on … June 26. It’s a coincidence, but also much more than that. June 26 isn’t just an important date for gay Americans– it’s a date that symbolizes how rapidly change can happen in America, how quickly our attitudes can evolve, and how, when used correctly, our system is one that propels us all towards a more equal state. June 26 isn’t just a symbol of marriage equality or gay rights– it’s a day that commemorates a collective change of mind, the American ability to choose freedom and equality. Love IS Love.
