Best Season to Visit Sedona Arizona

Best Season to Visit Sedona Arizona

Your Question: Best Season to Visit Sedona Arizona. From its breathtaking red rock formations bursting with color to its adorable boutique shops, there’s no doubt that Sedona should be on your list of beautiful places to visit. So what season is best for enjoying the Sedona views? The answer is all! If the Phoenix summers are a bit too hot for you, and the Flagstaff snowy weather is too cold, Sedona is the perfect in-between. There’s always something to do or see, no matter what time of year!

Celebrate Spring With a Scenic Hike

Spring is the most popular season to visit Sedona. The weather is ideal for spending time outdoors, with temperatures in the mid-60s to low 80s. This is the perfect time to explore the countless trails Sedona has to offer. One of my favorites is the Airport Mesa Vortex trail. It provides a scenic background for a photo session or for viewing the colorful Sedona sunsets. This is the city’s busiest visitor season, so be sure to plan any scheduled activities at least a month or so in advance!

Hit the Creek for Some Summer Fun

On a warm summer day, what’s better than taking a dip in a refreshing creek? If you ask me, I can’t name much! Sedona is an escape from the sweltering weather going on in most other parts of Arizona. Slide Rock is a favorite destination in the summer months, featuring a “natural playground” of rocks to slide on. If Slide Rock gets too crowded for your liking, Grasshopper Point is another option for cooling off. It has great water holes for swimming and areas for cliff jumping. Summer is monsoon season for Sedona, so keep an umbrella handy during your trip just in case!

Embrace the Fall Colors With a Festival

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to visit Sedona. (Though I can’t deny that anytime is a great time for a Sedona adventure!) Getting to see the leaves change color is one of the best and most beautiful things about Northern Arizona. The colorful leaves also make a great background for a photo session! In the fall, Sedona has a variety of festivals and events to choose from. The Sedona Winefest in September, Sedona Arts Festival in October, and Oak Creek Arts and Crafts Show in November are all options for admiring the fall leaves in style. It does get a bit chilly in the afternoon, so don’t forget a sweater or jacket!

Explore the Shops and Stay Cozy in the Winter

In the winter, Sedona temperatures reach the 50s on average. The city doesn’t get much snowfall, but you might be able to catch a dusting of snow on the red rocks! Winter is a great season to explore Sedona’s unique array of local boutiques. Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village is a beautiful shopping destination filled with artisanal artwork and framed by a gently flowing creek. If you’re on a budget, this is the best time to visit! There are fewer visitors in town in the winter, and accommodations are much less expensive than during the spring and summer months.

Words can not express how thankful and happy we are that we chose Monica to capture our perfect day. She made us feel both comfortable and confident in the whole process. She has this ease that makes you feel you’ve known her for years. Her kindness, personality, and professionalism was beyond what we could have hoped for. Her communication and organization was so impressive as well (I am far from organized)! Our photos are AMAZING, they are perfect. We wish we could do it all over again, and again. Seriously, book her right now! Best choice we could have made, and she helped make our day so wonderfully memorable and way less stressful.
